Our Mission
The Mission of Workforce Services at EMCC is to enhance the economic opportunities for the residents of our district in order for them to achieve the American Dream.
We will partner with area Business and Industry to meet their workforce training needs. For individuals seeking employment or changing careers, we will provide counseling and employability skills training.
We will assist local Economic organizations in retaining and expanding existing Business and Industry and recruiting new Business and Industry to our community.
Workforce Training
Workforce Development Coordinators work closely with businesses to design and present the types of training on demand that is needed by the clients. Training is presented only after extensive collaboration with the client to determine the exact needs of the business and the outcomes expected. A typical training scenario is presented that utilizes both lecture and hands-on work that is relevant to the training being conducted. Our training is conducted using personnel from the business requesting training, college personnel from both academic and vocational/technical areas, and subject area experts. The length of training varies and is dependent upon the scope.
In FY 2008-2009, the Workforce Services at EMCC delivered 1,023,300 hours of workforce training to 8,710 participants. State Workforce Funds were expended for equipment and training.
